Red Hat Elected to DMTF Board of Directors

DMTF Further Solidifies Cloud Leadership with Addition of Key Cloud Provider to Board of Directors

Portland, Ore. – May 9, 2011 –  The Distributed Management Task Force(DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced that open source solutions provider Red Hat has joined the DMTF Board of Directors. The addition of the industry-leading company adds to DMTF’s expanding presence in the IT industry. Red Hat joins AMD, Broadcom, CA Technologies, Cisco, Citrix Systems Inc., EMC, Fujitsu, HP, Huawei, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and VMware to continue DMTF’s mission to enable interoperable IT management solutions.

“Red Hat is excited to join the DMTF Board of Directors and help drive the development of industry-wide cloud management standards,” said David Lutterkort, principal software engineer at Red Hat, who will represent Red Hat on the Board. “We look forward to working in partnership with the other companies on the Board to speed adoption of DMTF interoperability standards, while offering our perspective and expertise as a leader in open source and cloud computing. As the lead of the Apache Deltacloud[1] project, I see great value in leveraging DMTF’s open standards.”

In addition to serving on the DMTF Board of Directors, Red Hat will also continue its active participation in DMTF’s cloud standards activities, including the Cloud Audit Data Federation Work Group (CADF) and the Cloud Management Work Group (CMWG).
