DMTF Welcomes Cisco to Board of Directors

New DMTF board member to aid advancement of IT management standards in 2010

PORTLAND, Ore., May 5, 2010 –Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced Cisco as a newly appointed member of the DMTF Board of Directors. Cisco joins Advanced Micro Devices, Broadcom, CA, Citrix Systems, Inc., Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, HP, Hitachi, IBM, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Oracle and VMware to drive the development of DMTF standards and initiatives in 2010.

DMTF member companies collaborate to set cross-industry priorities and promote interoperability for enterprise and Internet IT environments. DMTF technologies are designed to address the IT industry’s requirements for interoperable distributed management across multiple platforms. DMTF recently has established itself in the cloud computing space to address the need for a common cloud provider interface, as well as focus on the development of cloud interoperability standards.
