PORTLAND, Ore.--The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, and China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), today announced a partnership to promote cloud management standards in China. The two organizations will work together to encourage widespread adoption of DMTF’s cloud management standards in China.

As cloud computing continues to gain international traction in the IT industry, standards will play a critical role in achieving interoperable cloud management between service providers and their consumers and developers. DMTF and CCSA will collaborate on relevant cloud standards development by utilizing best practices and feedback from both groups, with a specific emphasis on the specifications being developed by DMTF’s Cloud Management Working Group, Cloud Auditing Data Federation Working Group and Network Services Management Working Group. This partnership will help ensure alignment within the cloud computing industry in China and the U.S.

“DMTF is excited to be partnering with CCSA to drive development and adoption of interoperable cloud management standards in China,” said Mark Carlson, DMTF VP of Alliances. “China is a major focal point for telecommunications and cloud management technologies and we look forward to working together to ensure that DMTF’s cloud standards have a big impact in this region.”

“With many Chinese companies actively working in the cloud space, it will be important that we promote interoperable cloud management standards to encourage widespread, international adoption,” said Yang Zemin, Secretary General, CCSA. “CCSA is looking forward to collaborating with DMTF to align our efforts in the cloud industry.”
