With over 17,000 attendees, this year’s VMworld was a great opportunity to promote DMTF and its ongoing initiatives. In addition to consistent booth traffic, DMTF was able to acquire more than 300 membership leads and speak with a number of companies interested in becoming involved in DMTF.

PORTLAND, Ore. – August 31, 2010 – Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced that its Open Virtualization Format (OVF) standard version 1.1 has been adopted as an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) standard. This achievement marks a major milestone in DMTF’s efforts to enable interoperable, platform-independent cloud and virtual management solutions.

PORTLAND, ORE. -August 25, 2010 -Distributed Management Task Force, the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems mangement standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced the availability of conformance programs for its Common Diagnostic Model (CDM) 1.0 and Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware (DASH) 1.0 standards. A total of 14 products from DMTF member companies Dell, HP and Intel have tested and validated thier products for conformance to these standards.

PORTLAND, Ore. – July 26, 2010 – Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced the availability of two new documents produced by its Open Cloud Standards Incubator. The documents – “Use Cases and Interactions for Managing Clouds,” and “Architecture for Managing Clouds” – will form the foundation for DMTF’s ongoing cloud standards work. In addition, DMTF has also launched the Cloud Management Workgroup (CMWG), to develop cloud management standards based on the recommendations outlined in the Incubator documents.

A number of enhancements and additions are introduced throughout the Schema, including ongoing improvements to support product and alliance partners and to support DMTF Profiles and Management Initiatives. Examples include updates to BIOS, printers, standard messages, operating system state, modern power management paradigms, virtualization and security.

Las Vegas, Nev. - December 1, 2009 - Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced that it will partner with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to promote standards for cloud security as part of the ongoing work within the DMTF Open Cloud Standards Incubator. The two groups will collaborate on best practices for managing security within the cloud.
