DMTF to Participate in Tokyo’s ITPro Expo Cloud Days 2012

DMTF’s Japanese Subcommittee will be participating in the ITPro Expo Cloud Days 2012, one of the largest cloud events in Japan with more than 60,000 participants. This event will explore how the Cloud is rapidly becoming the foundation of corporate IT system, as many companies are taking advantage of the scalability and flexibility that the cloud provides.

DMTF Releases Specification for Simplifying Cloud Infrastructure Management

Portland, Ore. –August 29, 2012– The Distributed Management Task Force, the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced the release of the new Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) specification. The new specification standardizes interactions between cloud environments to achieve interoperable cloud infrastructure management between service providers and their consumers and developers, enabling users to manage their cloud infrastructure use easily and without complexity.

DMTF and CESI to Promote Cloud Management Interoperability in China

Portland, Ore. –July 30, 2012 – The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, and the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI) today announced they have formed a partnership to drive adoption of DMTF cloud management standards in China, an important step on the path towards enabling worldwide interoperable IT management.

The DMTF Board of Directors has appointed officers for the term beginning August 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.  The Board also created a new position of vice president of regional chapters designed to help facilitate the growth of the DMTF’s global outreach.
